Trafficking
Commercial exploitation networks
Traffickers recruit and maintain victims through classifieds, social platforms, and encrypted messaging, lowering the cost of coordination across a distributed enterprise. In United States v. Chase Anthony Young, a Dallas operator ran a sex-trafficking organization dating to at least 2017 with nine identified victims. He pled guilty to causing three adult victims to engage in commercial sex by force, fraud, or coercion, placing online ads, renting hotel rooms, setting pricing and rules, and taking all proceeds while victims received beatings and scars, and was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.
